Where a trafficking count is largely constituted by acts of supplying a dangerous drug, concurrent terms of imprisonment for the subsidiary supply counts constitute impermissible double punishment and should be set aside. However, such error does not of itself require interference with the head sentence on the trafficking count. A 10-year sentence for trafficking in methylamphetamine over nearly two years, involving importation of glassware for 23 laboratories, supply of precursor chemicals, and unexplained income exceeding $690,000, was not manifestly excessive even for a 74-year-old offender in failing health.
