There is no necessarily correct amount of discount for co-operation with authorities, and the weight to be given to an offer of assistance must be assessed in the context of the circumstances in which it was made, including whether the offender initially declined to co-operate and changed position only when faced with the prospect of being compelled to testify. A s 6AAA declaration may be directed solely to the guilty plea discount and does not necessarily encompass the discount for co-operation with authorities.
