Where a plaintiff's incapacity may be attributable in part to a subsequent accident, the defendant bears the onus of adducing evidence that the subsequent accident contributed to the plaintiff's incapacity; the defendant also bears the evidentiary burden of demonstrating what residual earning capacity the plaintiff has and what jobs are available to exploit that capacity.
