A sentence of four years' imprisonment for trafficking in methylamphetamine at street level over a nine and a half month period, involving over 20 customers and at least 70 transactions, is within the range of comparable sentences of four to five years imposed by the Queensland Court of Appeal. Liability to deportation cannot be taken into account in mitigation absent evidence before the sentencing judge that deportation would result in hardship. Post-sentence compassionate circumstances do not establish that a sentence as imposed was manifestly excessive.
