A sentence of three months' imprisonment for defiant, contumacious and continuing contempt involving failure to deliver up property, where the contemnor has shown no remorse, offered no explanation, and made no apology, is within the permissible range and may even be lenient. Impecuniosity does not make a fine the appropriate alternative to imprisonment where the contempt is serious and the authority of the court must be vindicated.
