A conditionally suspended term of imprisonment for aggravated burglary may be within the range of a sound sentencing discretion even where the offender has significant intellectual disability causally connected to the offence, an early guilty plea, and remorse, where the offence involves entry to an occupied home at night and the offender was drug-affected. The significance of general deterrence, while substantially reduced by mental impairment, is not eliminated where the offender was acting under the influence of self-administered prohibited drugs.
