General damages of $100,000 were awarded for battery arising from sexual assault of a 14-year-old, where the plaintiff suffered PTSD, major depressive disorder and eating disorder with likely permanent manifestations. Aggravated damages of $25,000 were awarded where the defendant instructed the plaintiff to conceal the assault, but the late withdrawal of a consent defence did not attract aggravated damages where the plaintiff's pleadings were vague. Breaking general damages into sub-categories was held to be an inappropriate approach.
