A sentencing judge is not required to mention particular features of offending conduct only once in sentencing remarks; mentioning a factor on more than one occasion is not, in itself, indicative of double counting adverse to the offender. The operative findings must be identified by a fair reading of the entire sentencing remarks. The cases relied upon by the applicant did not establish a useful sentencing range for aggregate sentences involving child sexual assault offences under ss 66A(2) and 66C(2) of the Crimes Act 1900.
