The Queensland Court of Appeal dismissed the application for an extension of time to apply for leave to appeal against a three-year sentence for trafficking in dangerous drugs, finding no explanation for the delay and no merit in the proposed appeal. The Court confirmed that a head sentence of three years imprisonment (reduced from a starting point of four years on account of an early guilty plea) for street-level methylamphetamine dealing over a 12-day period by a long-term drug-addicted offender was consistent with comparable authorities and not manifestly excessive.
