An inferences direction is not required in a case of indecent dealing where the decisive issue is whether admitted conduct was indecent, provided the trial judge gives clear and orthodox directions on the burden and standard of proof, the element of indecency, and the relevance of sexual motivation. The question of whether conduct is indecent is a value judgment for the jury, and sexual motivation is a relevant but not essential factual consideration that need not be the subject of a separate inferences direction.
