Practitioners advising clients subject to the Terrorism (High Risk Offenders) Act 2017 (NSW) should note that the deeming provision in s 10(1A)(a)(ii) extends to any use or display of images or symbols (including words and numbers) associated with a terrorist organisation, without requiring that the images themselves directly advocate support for terrorism, and that the association need not be discernible from the image alone but may be established by surrounding context.
