A combined sentence of 23 months' imprisonment followed by a 3-year CCO with rehabilitative and supervisory conditions is within range for sexual assault and threat to kill offences in a family violence context involving cruel, degrading, and humiliating conduct, a late guilty plea, and prior related offending against the same victim. The punitive and rehabilitative elements of a CCO do not render an overall combination sentence manifestly excessive where the offending is grave.
