A jury's acquittal on a charge of possession with intent to sell or supply, where the alternative of simple possession is found proved, carries with it only the conclusion that the accused did not have the relevant intent at the material time. It does not necessarily involve acceptance of the accused's specific evidence about what they intended to do with the drugs, nor does it require the sentencing judge to find that the accused would have disposed of the drugs in any particular way.
