The public interest in ensuring the integrity of the deregistration process and the diligence of directors can support reinstatement under s 601AH(2) even where there is no clear path to recovery of funds. The general ancillary power in s 601AH(3)(d) cannot be used to extend the specific limitation period for voidable transaction claims in s 588FF(3). An incorrect declaration of solvency under s 494, the failure to notify creditors of winding up, and post-deregistration conduct by officers dealing with creditors as if the company still existed are all relevant factors supporting reinstatement.
