A sentence of three years' imprisonment with parole after 12 months (reflecting a 40 per cent reduction under s 13B for cooperation with police from a notional five-year sentence) is within the available range for street-level methylamphetamine trafficking over approximately seven months, where the offender has significant mitigating circumstances including mental health issues, a minor criminal history, and a timely guilty plea. A belated challenge to facts conceded by counsel at the sentencing hearing will not succeed on appeal where there is ample independent evidence of the offending.
