An appeal will be dismissed for want of prosecution where the appellant has failed to comply with directions, has not progressed the appeal for approximately one year, has left the jurisdiction with no intention of returning, and has indicated an intention not to proceed. Indemnity costs are warranted where appeals involve claims without basis, advanced in wilful disregard of known facts or established law.
