Individual sentences of 2 years and 2 years 6 months for aggravated home burglaries involving forcible entry, confrontation, threats to kill, and actual violence were manifestly inadequate. A total effective sentence of 3 years for three separate aggravated home burglaries infringed the first limb of the totality principle. The Court resentenced with a total effective sentence of 5 years, with individual sentences of 4 years (count 3) and 3 years 6 months (count 5). Where an aggravated home burglary by a repeat offender is not of the least serious type, a sentence in excess of the mandatory minimum of 2 years must be imposed.
