An alleged inconsistency between a complainant's tentative evidence about the circumstances surrounding an offence (such as the reason for her presence at a location) and another witness's evidence does not necessarily give rise to a reasonable doubt about the offending itself, where the complainant's evidence about the offending was detailed and firm. Differing verdicts on multiple counts involving the same complainant are readily reconciled where there are material differences in the quality, detail, and consistency of the complainant's evidence across the different incidents.
