Where a complainant's earlier accounts focus on one sexual act and later accounts add detail about preceding acts, a jury's acquittal on the later-described acts and conviction on the originally-described act may be rationally explained without resort to credibility doubts. Additionally, where multiple sexual acts occur in sequence, acquittals on earlier acts may be explained by the jury not being satisfied the accused knew of non-consent during those acts, while being satisfied he knew by the time of the later act because of the complainant's intervening protests.
