A sentence imposed by a court without jurisdiction over the offence is vulnerable to being set aside and cannot be relied upon to establish a justifiable sense of grievance in a parity argument. A sentence of 15 months' imprisonment (suspended after 5 months) is within the appropriate range for attempting to pervert justice by swearing a false affidavit in support of a bail application.
