A sentence of 15 months' imprisonment with immediate parole release is within the appropriate range for a 19-year-old first-time offender who pleads guilty to aggravated possession of approximately 5.8 grams of pure MDMA for commercial purposes, together with related supply offences, where the offender has strong prospects of rehabilitation. This is consistent with sentences of 18-20 months imposed in R v Lemmar and R v Kopjar for less serious offending by older offenders.
