An aggregate sentence of 6 years imprisonment with a 3 year 6 month non-parole period for three armed robberies committed over three days (two involving firearms, one involving a knife) with multiple victims is not manifestly excessive, even where the offender is a young person with no prior convictions, an exceptionally deprived background, reduced moral culpability, and good prospects of rehabilitation. The Henry guideline for s 97(1) offences provides no support for a contention of manifest excess where the offending involves s 97(2) firearm offences with Form 1 matters attached.
