Where rr 360 and 361 of the UCPR are engaged, the mandatory costs consequences prescribed by those rules displace the general costs discretion under r 681 and apply according to their terms. Concepts of reasonableness relevant to Calderbank offers are not to be imported into the application of rr 360 and 361. Where a party makes an indivisible offer covering both claim and counterclaim, both components may separately engage rr 360 and 361 respectively. It will be more difficult for a party to show that issue-by-issue costs apportionment is appropriate where rr 360 or 361 apply.
