Section 293(4)(a) of the Criminal Procedure Act 1986 (NSW) is narrowed by the requirement in s 293(4)(a)(ii) to near-contemporaneous events that are sufficiently integrated with the offending such that they form part of the circumstances of the alleged offending; evidence of a complainant's professional sexual work at about the same time as the offending does not satisfy this requirement where the work is unconnected to the circumstances of the offences.
