A sentence that is clearly lenient for specially aggravated kidnapping for ransom and break and enter offences may nonetheless survive a Crown appeal where the sentencing judge was entitled to give weight to the offender's youth (aged 20), good rehabilitation prospects, and lesser individual participation in a joint criminal enterprise, and where the sentence is not an affront to the administration of justice.
