When sentencing for a combination of federal and State offences, a complaint about the approach to accumulation of sentences is properly a complaint about totality that can only be assessed by reference to the total effective sentence; lesser offences that would not independently warrant custodial sentences should not significantly extend an aggregate sentence beyond what is appropriate for the principal offending.
