When deciding whether to record convictions under s 184(1) of the Youth Justice Act 1992 (Qld), a sentencing judge is entitled to have regard to the circumstance that an individual offence is a component part of a wider body of offending making up the 'case', and may record convictions on a large number of counts to ensure the public record accurately reflects the nature and extent of the offending.
