In appeals from the Legal Profession Disciplinary Tribunal under the Legal Profession Act 2007 (Tas), the proper respondent is the legal practitioner who was the subject of the complaint, not the Tribunal. The Tribunal has no legal personage and should not be made a party to an appeal from its own decision. The Supreme Court Rules concerning discovery and interrogatories (rr 386, 387, 406, 410) have no application to appeals from statutory tribunals.
