An appellant's prior flight from the jurisdiction before trial, combined with a lengthy criminal history and arrest while attempting to leave Australia after extradition, will strongly support a finding that no bail conditions can sufficiently reduce the risk of flight, even where strict conditions including home detention and a substantial surety are proposed.
