The Court sentenced the offender to 3 months imprisonment (already served as pre-sentence custody) for drive while disqualified as a repeat offender, and imposed a 14-month intensive corrections order for aggravated dangerous driving (9 months) and possession of an unregistered/prohibited firearm (9 months, partially cumulative). The Court found reduced moral culpability under Bugmy on account of the offender's severely disadvantaged childhood and long-term substance abuse, and gave full weight to exemplary post-offence rehabilitation including sustained negative drug tests, volunteer work, and high bail compliance. A 25 per cent discount was applied for early guilty pleas entered at the mention stage.
