The Court imposed an aggregate sentence of 26 years (NPP 19 years 6 months) for multiple offences of sexual intercourse with a child under 10, production of child abuse material, sexual touching, and Commonwealth carriage service offences involving child abuse material. The Court allowed the full 25% utilitarian discount under s 25F despite the Crown's submission that extreme culpability warranted reduction, holding that the community interest in punishment and deterrence would be met by the lengthy sentence even with the full discount, and that maintaining the incentive for early guilty pleas served the community interest. The Commonwealth aggregate sentence of 4 years 3 months was ordered to commence partially concurrently with the State non-parole period, producing a total effective NPP of 19 years 6 months.
