For a charge of accessory after the fact to murder, the Crown must prove actual knowledge that the victim is dead and that the principal offender had the requisite intent — knowledge of a serious injury is insufficient, and lies told to police cannot be used as consciousness of guilt evidence where the offence as particularised (concealment of location) had not in fact occurred.
