The Tribunal found that Ms Schroder's proven criminal and dishonest conduct (perjury, subornation of perjury, attempting to obtain financial advantage by deception, and attempting to pervert the course of justice in relation to a deceased partner's estate) constituted professional misconduct under paragraphs (a) and (c) of section 5 of the National Law. She was reprimanded, disqualified from applying for registration as a psychologist, prohibited from applying for reinstatement for four years, and prohibited from providing any health service for four years. The Tribunal imposed the health service prohibition of its own motion, notwithstanding the Board did not seek it, based on Ms Schroder's earlier correspondence suggesting she might practise as a therapist without registration. The four-year non-reinstatement period was one year less than the Board sought, reflecting the Tribunal's consideration of delay and the unique personal circumstances, but the lack of insight, remorse, or evidence of rehabilitation weighed heavily against Ms Schroder.
