Acquittals on some counts of child sexual offences do not necessarily render convictions on other counts inconsistent where the acquittals are explicable by the complainant's unreliability on matters of detail (time and place) rather than rejection of the complainant's evidence as a whole. A complainant's prior false accusations do not disqualify them from acceptance as a witness of truth but are a factor for the jury in assessing inconsistencies in the evidence.
