A school authority may be liable under its non-delegable duty of care for injuries to a pupil caused by another pupil's assault during a lunch break, even where no individual teacher or the school principal is found to have been negligent. The plaintiff need only show that the school authority could have provided supervision that would have minimised the risk. A schoolboy's failure to disclose a pre-existing medical condition he did not understand does not constitute contributory negligence.
