A party who is itself repudiating a contract is precluded from terminating it for the other party's repudiation. A purported termination must be sufficiently clear and unequivocal; a statement of intention to terminate at a future time, conditional on the absence of alternative arrangements, is insufficient. Even where a party is not itself repudiating, it cannot terminate if there is a causal relationship between its own conduct and the other party's repudiation.
