The s 19 report obligation under the Listening Devices Act 1984 requires reporting only on actual or intended use of information obtained, not on all possible uses. The s 22 destruction obligation applies only to material not relating to any prescribed offence (any indictable offence), not merely the offence for which the warrant was originally obtained — information about other indictable offences may be retained. The question whether s 138 of the Evidence Act 1995 requires a temporal causal link between the contravention and the obtaining of evidence was expressly left open.
