An accused person who has exercised the right of appeal under s 668 of the Criminal Code (Qld) and whose appeal has been determined cannot bring a further appeal, even where it is alleged that counsel failed to follow instructions. Section 8 of the Supreme Court of Queensland Act 1991 does not confer additional criminal appellate jurisdiction beyond Chapter 67 of the Criminal Code.
