When assessing parity between co-offenders sentenced on multiple counts, the relevant comparison is the overall sentencing disposition (including total effective sentence and non-parole period), not merely the sentence on the individual count complained of. A sentencing judge's misstatement of the maximum penalty for an offence will not vitiate the sentencing discretion where the sentence imposed is proportionately modest relative to the true maximum and the judge was not 'steering by the maximum'.
