Each payment of workers' compensation by an employer gives rise to a separate cause of action for statutory indemnity under s 151Z(1)(d), with its own six-year limitation period running from the date of that payment under s 14(1)(d) of the Limitation Act 1969 (NSW). An employer's indemnity claim is not wholly statute barred merely because the first compensation payment was made more than six years before proceedings were commenced; only individual payments falling outside the six-year window are barred.
