Section 204 of the Life Insurance Act 1995 (Cth) protects life insurance policy moneys from compulsory seizure by creditors but does not prevent the policy holder from voluntarily using those moneys to satisfy a security for costs order. The possibility that a security for costs payment might later constitute a preferential payment in bankruptcy is not a valid reason for refusing to make a security for costs order.
