The adequacy of a medical assessment panel's reasons under s 145E of the Workers' Compensation & Rehabilitation Act 1981 (WA) must be assessed against the circumstances of the particular case. It is impermissible to extract from prior decisions a generalised checklist of matters that every panel's reasons must contain. Where the relevant findings and issues are fairly fully set out in the medical reports before the panel, extremely brief reasons may be adequate.
