Where a co-offender who played a greater role in a drug supply enterprise receives a lower non-parole period than a subordinate co-offender, the disparity in non-parole periods (not just head sentences) may give rise to a justifiable sense of grievance warranting appellate intervention. The sentencing range for s 25A offences (ongoing supply) at the time was 3 to 6 years for head sentences and 12 months to 4 years for non-parole periods.
