A sentence of 14 years imprisonment for attempted possession of 1.9245 kg pure methylamphetamine is within the range of sound discretionary judgment where the offender was the highest in the hierarchy of apprehended offenders, pleaded guilty late, and did not cooperate with authorities. The quantity of drug, while not necessarily the most important factor, is a very significant factor in sentencing.
