Where an offender's involvement in drug trafficking is ancillary to a principal offender who is also the offender's domestic abuser and drug supplier, and the offender suffers from Battered Women's Syndrome and drug-induced psychosis, these factors in combination with youth, cooperation with police, and rehabilitation efforts may place the case in a special category warranting unusual leniency in the period of actual custody before suspension. A head sentence of five years was within range for an 11-month period of trafficking in Schedule 1 methylamphetamine in a subsidiary role, reduced to three years with suspension after 9 months in the circumstances.
