A Longman warning need not include a direction that it is 'dangerous to convict' in every case; the content of the warning depends on the circumstances, including the length of delay between the offending and complaint, the age of the complainant, and the nature of the forensic disadvantage. Where the delay between the last offences and complaint is relatively short (approximately 18 months), a direction to carefully scrutinise the complainant's evidence taking full account of identified forensic disadvantages may suffice.
