Where an offender's psychological disorder has a causal connection to the commission of a receiving offence — in the sense that the disorder made the offender vulnerable to coercion by others — that disorder is a significantly mitigating factor that may displace the usual disposition of immediate imprisonment, even for receiving offences involving property of considerable value. A 25 per cent discount may be insufficient where the offender's cooperation was the primary source of evidence against them.
