A total sentence of three years with a non-parole period of approximately nine months for robbery whilst armed with an offensive weapon was within the permissible range of sentencing discretion where the offender suffered from chronic schizophrenia that contributed to the offence, reduced culpability, rendered the offender a less appropriate vehicle for general deterrence, and caused custody to weigh more heavily upon her. The finding that the offender was unlikely to re-offend rebutted a Crown submission of future dangerousness.
