Where a co-offender's sentence has been reduced on appeal, the parity principle may warrant an extension of time and reduction of the remaining offender's actual imprisonment, even where the co-offender's reduction was based on cooperation with police that the applicant did not provide. The distinguishing factor of cooperation does not justify a three-fold disparity in actual custody; a two-fold disparity was held to be the upper limit before a justifiable sense of grievance arises.
