The 'all reasonable steps' defence under s 49 of the Prostitution Act 2000 (WA) requires proof that every reasonable step was taken, not merely that some reasonable steps were taken; reliance on visual assessment of age and an identification card without a photograph may be insufficient. A parole eligibility order made contrary to s 89(2) of the Sentencing Act 1995 (WA) for a sentence under 12 months must be recalled under s 37(1) rather than corrected by amending the warrant form, and failure to do so may require resentencing.
